17. Red Hornet The Horrible Hostage Plan
Red Hornet and his army are out to destroy Mother
Nature. To do so they spread gas, which wipes out
plants and leaves people choking. Professor Komyoji
takes a bus to his hometown of Ikaho, where Hanpei is
also driving Mitsuko and Masaru. The robots attack at
the Grand Hotel, but Jiro is there to battle them. In the
confusion, Yumiko, Masaru and Mitsuko get
kidnapped. Jiro finds them, and Gil plays the flute. The
roar of a boat engine blocks the sound, and Red
Hornet is not long for the world!
Notes: There is a lot of sightseeing in this episode, and
it is some gorgeous countryside. The little hornets look
like toys, and they need to “gas “ up to full power. We
see Red Hornet has a videophone. Masaru is infected
and acts crazy, which gets a bit annoying. He gets
cured at the end, though.
